STEAM BOILERS & HOT WATER BOILERS
Value Added Treatment Programs using "tagged"
polymer called
OptidoseTM
(OptidoseTM is a trademark of the Rohm & Haas Company)
Most modern water treatment programs for steam boilers rely on polymers to
control scale formation & corrosion. Typically, dosage of polymer was based on
past experience because there was no test available to find out how much polymer
has been adsorbed (used up & no longer available). Due to this problem, even
well managed systems would sometimes fail to control scale formation & corrosion
in steam boiler systems. So, most polymers were (are) overfed to avoid any
surprises.
Rohm and Haas has developed a revolutionary method of tracking polymer levels in
steam boilers. The new system uses a "tagged" polymer called
OptidoseTM to control scale formation & corrosion in the
system. The new tagged polymer can be identified with a simple field test. Now
you can know exactly how much product is available to combat scale formation or fouling by simply measuring the level of free polymer in the water.
Our Boiler water treatment programs offer, protection and extended equipment life for high & low pressure Boilers. The program includes a comprehensive line of chemicals, chemical feed and control equipment, treating and account management systems.
Benefits- Efficient treatment saves Money & Extends Equipment
Life
- Avoid potential fouling situations and maintain maximum heat transfer. Maximizing
heat transfer leads to savings in fuel costs.
- Maintain clean heat transfer, maximize your equipment life. The ability to monitor free polymer means you have early warning of fouling before it occurs.
- Minimize cleanouts over time.
- Chemical cost savings by avoiding overfeeding.
- Precise determination of Optidose polymer concentration under varying water
conditions.
